Looks great ;-)

Christian

Did you make this? Or was it outsourced?

Oh! And are you avaliable for hire! :)

Andy Kim

I did make this myself because I enjoy working on application icons but it probably would have come out better if I had professional help :)

As for being a hired gun, I wish I could do just icons for a while to improve my illustration skills, but I have other ambitions for the moment.

Thanks for dropping by, Christian.

Ben

That looks pretty damn professional to me! :D

Do you ever use an external sketchpad or do you create all of your images from within the illustrator program?

Andy Kim

I draw lots of sketches on paper first to brainstorm. Then I choose a few that could work and do a rough rendering in Photoshop. Then I choose the final candidate from those and fill in the details or draw it from scratch again.

Fernando Lins

That looks great, Andy!

Adam

As a designer, the touch of purple at the bottom sells it.

Cheers!

Absolutely gorgeous icon--the color palette is superb!

Very beautiful !!!

But as always there IS room for improvement:
- the size of the holes for the rings does not seem completely consistent?
- thickness of the binder is not reflected in the 'depth' of the tabs, now the 'last' tab seems to hold everything (or the major part)
- the popular 'glass-reflection' (very popular) does not seem right here, a binder is made of paper/carton?

Just my humble opinion though. Please do not get disturbed by this, just trying to give you some food for thought.

Cheers,

TonyO

Another thing caught my eye. The 'tickmark' has transparancy. Is it intended like that? I don't really get the point.

I'm going to sign up for your beta testing as well. And will sent you my remarks, I'm a kind of purist, so please make up your own mind about my statements, it may not work for everybody. It's your app after all!

Michael Curry

Love the icon book - perfect fit for this great app. However, you may want to consider losing the Checkmark. Things (cultured code) is using a centered checkmark as well (although different style). Honestly, I think the book alone would be a beautiful understated icon. If you need any help I would love to contribute. Great Work!

JONATHAN GREEN

Solid app. Would love an iPhone version. I truly believe if you had a competitor it would have to be things, and there are some UI elements that you use that are not only fun but functional. Tabs are nicenessified, stacked notes/legal pad look is inspirational in it's elegance and functionality.

well engineered.
